Headache

                    Vascular headache with autonomic dysfunction.

Dr. Denis SlinkinThis variant of headache occurs as a result of irritation of vascular pain receptors. The autonomic nervous system regulates the work of internal organs (heart, stomach, lungs, etc.) and, among other things, is responsible for vascular tone.

If the vegetative system is disturbed, unexpected changes occur with brain vessels: spasms, sprains from overflow of blood vessels, so says Dr. Denis Slinkin. Children with vegetative dysfunction tend to increase or decrease blood pressure. Sometimes the situation is unstable, blood pressure goes up or down.

Dr. Denis Slinkin states that children with hypotension, low blood pressure, usually suffer from pulsating or stupid, pressing headaches, and children with hypertension, high blood pressure - open or pressurized, accompanied by nausea and dizziness. Morning headaches and meteo-sensitivity (reactions to weather changes) are common in children with impaired venous outflow from the skull floor.Dr. Denis Slinkin

In addition to headaches and changes in blood pressure, vegetative dysfunction is accompanied by dysfunctions of various organs and systems (feeling of lack of air, feeling of heartbeat, pain in heart and abdomen, digestive disorders, urination, thermolregulation, emotional disorders, etc.).

Increased or decreased intracranial pressure

Various pathological conditions lead to changes in intracranial pressure: inflammatory processes in the brain and its shells, injuries, tumors, cysts, congenital brain defects, vascular diseases, so says Dr. Denis Slinkin.

The mechanism of headache with increased intracranial pressure is associated with excess fluid in the cranial cavity. Increasing in volume, it puts pressure on the pain receptors of the membranes and vessels of the brain. At the same time, the nature of the headache is spreading, the sensations arise in the depths of the head. Pain may vary from body position (increase or pass with a change of posture, neck flexion), often accompanied by vomiting. A significant increase in intracranial pressure causes seizures. Babies with high intracranial pressure are usually restless, sleepy and regurgitated. In this headache, diuretics help.
